Il peso delle nuvole
at Museo di Scienze Naturali, Brescia, May 19 – August 25, 2023
"The restlessness, the heaviness and the growing sense of guilt linked to the relationship between man and nature lie within each of us. In recent years, to this sense of unease it has been given the name of eco-anxiety.
The artist relates to this “culture of disappointment” with an empirical approach, placing himself..."

"Titled after a Sex Pistols' song, Who Killed Bambi serves as both ironic commentary and earnest reflection within this exhibition, in which the title acts as a suggestion, a pretext and a metaphor.
This exhibition is a dense amalgamation of eighty artists, characterized by a detrital essence. It presents a mishmash of saccharine and gritty imagery, twisted, reconfigured, metabolized, and regurgitated, as a poeticization of debris, embodying both waste and the flawed ideologies and practices it represents.
There's no overarching polemical theme or environmentalist ideology here; instead, it embraces an accumulative, liberated, somewhat hysterical and assertive setup - a dense yet sporadic forest of ideas. Spatial dynamics, typically observed between individual artworks, are avoided in favor of accumulation and a controlled chaos. Pedestals are eschewed, rejecting both monumentality and conventional exhibition norms. It's more akin to navigating a field of crunchy mines and critical trigger points."

"Within the framework of Teatrum Botanicum, the PAV ecosystem willingly immerses itself in a realm haunted by a myriad of burgeoning organisms, poised to unveil a multitude of interpretations concerning the profound inquiry surrounding the concept of the environment. This encompasses not only a narrow understanding of the environment, delving into inquiries and provocations regarding the pressing ecological dilemma, but also delves into the environment as a botanical entity and as an urban arena. It serves as a stage for the social dimension and as a participant within it. Numerous artworks will challenge the conventional dichotomous perspective we often hold regarding the relationship between nature and culture. Others will prompt introspection regarding our daily interactions with ecosystems, whether situated within rural landscapes, urban settings, or intermediary spaces."
